I wish I knew about how dishonest these people were BEFORE I did work for them.
If you ever see an ad to do a gig for Rhett Dunlap of Seaglass Productions, any of his associates from the company (Sascha Meier and Harold Valderama) or Andy Harvey ([email protected], www.usa-live.com, and http://www.andyharveyenterprises.com) do yourself a favor-
RUN!
Here is the condensed version of the current situation:
Rhett Dunlap of Seaglass Productions hired Andy Harvey to find videographers to tape OpenCoNY on May 23, 2013. Andy was paid a fee to find us and was told, by Rhett, that the videographer’s pay rate is $550.00 plus $45.00 for expenses for a grand total of $595.00. Andy Harvey contacted me and other videographers and told us that the pay rate for the day is $300.00. This rate included using our own equipment. The contract that we had to sign to work on the event was with Seaglass Productions. Since then both Rhett and Andy have been passing blame back and forth, neither making any payment to me or 4 other videographers.
Since neither Rhett nor Andy is willing to do the right thing and pay the full amount of $595.00, I have no other option to take them both to Small Claims Court.
I’m hoping that my post here can help save others out there in the industry by giving them a heads up about these two and their companies.
Thank You and Good Luck!

  • ***UPDATE***

SeaGlass Productions has fully resolved the matter with me. I have been paid in full. SeaGlass Productions has paid all camera operators out of its own pocket (it had to double pay them).
As it turns out, Rhett Dunlap of SeaGlass Productions and their associates were as much victims in this situation as I was. WE BOTH were conned by Andy Harvey. It turns out that SeaGlass advanced my payment, as well as the payment of several other cameramen, to Andy Harvey who took it upon himself to keep the money and lie about it as well as lie about the actual payments due to the cameraman. It also turns out that we were not the only ones scammed by the nefarious Andy Harvey. A cameraman from the West Coast who was also conned by Andy Harvey contacted me. It seems like this is a habit for A.H. I am just sorry that this man hurt so many people and I’m also sorry that I didn’t find out about Rhett’s innocence earlier.
