We received a fax from a yellow page directory called Yellow Holding LTD. The fax asks to verify our company information. The official looking verification form showed the YH basic contact information and touts the image of fingers flipping through the phone book. However, the verification form was not from a local phone directory but for some unknown directory. The verification form clearly stated in larger print "THIS IS NOT A BILL"/ Apparently it is!! A disclaimer at the bottom of the form, in smaller print states, "THIS IS NOT A BILL, INVOICE OR STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT DUE. YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION Y+TO MAKE ANY PAYMENTS ON ACCOUNT OF THIS OFFER UNLESS YOU ACCEPT THE TERMS. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR THE ORDER OF GOODS OR SERVICES, OR BOTH." Apparently they don't acknowledge this. In much smaller print it says you can cancel three months prior to its expiry, otherwise it is renewed for another year. It does not direct how you can cancel prior to getting an invoice or proof if there were changes.

This is clearly deceptive! Businesses can not mislead consumers in large print and rely on the fine print to "clarify" the representations. Attempts to call have been either nobody available recording or directed to the Contract Department. Yet they will not connect you to the "Contract Department".
