At 9:20 am we received a call from a man David, who said that he was with Legal Affairs at the US Department of Treasury. Our secretary answered the call. She asked him twice if he was truly from a government agency. He would not answer the question but repeated that he was with "Legal Affairs at US Dept. of Treasury". He asked for "Sue". Debi said "she is not available right now". She asked for a phone number to give to me. At 9:26 am I returned the call. I asked for David. He did not answer so I talked to a man who said his name was Steve Anderson, badge number 303. He told me that "They audited our income tax return for the last 7 years and believe that I am guilty of tax evasion, and that I will be arrested and put in jail for three months while my case waits to go to court.He said that I owed $10,000.00 and only paid $7000.00.He asked "How do you intend to handle this?" I said I had not received anything in the mail about this. I asked for a copy of the letter. He said he could not do that and that my husband had signed for a "Certified letter" for me. He also said that we failed to file "Form 990".
