In July 2015, I completed a survey for my cable company, Rogers Cable. My "gift" for taking the time to complete their survey was a choice of 4 "free trials". Unfortunately, I chose the Spark Whitening Teeth Whitening free trial. I clicked on a link to provide my address and had to provide my credit card number as the method to pay for shipping charges ONLY. There was NO indication anywhere on this form that I was entering some kind of membership or automatic shipment program. I at no time received any emails from this company to inform me that I was entering an auto-ship program nor did I receive any documentation of any kind in the box in which my "free trial" came. In July, I was charged $1.37 CAD and then 3 days later I was charged $5.20 CAD.
I never received anything from them again - no emails, no products, nothing. In August 2015, I was charged $127.41 CAD. I did not find out about this charge until the end of the month. I contacted my bank to launch an investigation. Today, September 3rd, 2015, I see yet another charge from Spark Whitening for $143.72 CAD. Keep in mind that I have received only the "free trial" for which I have now paid a whopping $277.70 CAD or $208.32 USD. I contacted the company today demanding all of my money back and tell them that I am returning their "free trial". Customer Service Rep, Flor (employee #1433903) tells me that I am in an auto-ship program which I was informed of when I first ordered the product. I explain in detail to her that I was NEVER informed of an auto-ship program when I received my "gift" of a "free trial" of Spark Whitening upon completion of a survey nor have I received any emails indicating this either. She says that they have shipped their product out to me today which is why I was charged the $99 USD ($143.72 CAD) today. She says that they will only accept that return and that I will only get 60% of that charge back. After telling her that I am contacting the BBB, she then tells me that they will reimburse me for that charge if I return that item on time but that they will not accept the "free trial" return nor will they reimburse me for those fees. So they have in fact charged me $133.98 CAD for their "FREE TRIAL" - that's IF I ever see the $143.72 that they charged me today on top of that. I hate companies that scam people & believe that they should be closed down.
