carmax sold me a 2008 VW jetta 2.5 sel that was only supposed to have light sheetmetal damage, and repaired.. no big deal... i bought the car in May 2011, last week the car developed a popping sound in the rear. took the car to Jackson Imports, MS only VW dealer for warranty repairs. Turns out the driver's side rear control arm was bent inward. The Bushing was knocked completely out. VW said that the car would have had to take a "massive" hit onthe driver's side rear wheel in order to knock out the bushing, The bushing is pressed into place with 25000# on a hydrolic press.
CarMax also says they will NEVER sell you a carwith frame damage. The Jetta has had the drivers side front subframe assembly replaced. CarMax insist that the frame is only the floor pan on a unibody car. The car also has odometer discepiancies. the scam was a bad faith transaction, defraud on accident history, defraud on the repairs made to the car. these actions break several federal and state laws, including the fair trade act, and fraud. CarMax also implies that they will not sell a car that has frame damage. yet they do! the oly remedy that they offered was to refund my purchase price. I am still out sales tax, window tinting, and personal touches made to the car. Also the tax will be more, insurance more on another car from them and I still would have bad faith in the purchase. i offered to settle the matter for $6000.00 refund, 1 year warranty and I keep the car. All they are interested in is getting the evidence back.this all transpired 8/1/2011 - 8/0/2011 .
