Received letter with a very authentic check enclosed showin it was made at JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A. Chicago,IL.It stated I was the beneficiary of unclaimed settlement in the amount of $80 thousand dollars. I was to contact a number without telling anyone about it or I wouldnt receive the money. The check was for $2251.75,but I had to speak to claim agent John Carter before trying to cash it or it would be void and stop payments would be in affect. It was sent from Financial Gaming Services in Montreal,QC.A red flag popped up in my mind when i read "dont tell anyone until it as completely processed for a fee from me.I checked online and saw complaints and BBB grade of F for ECHO GLOBAL LOGISTICS CHICAGO,IL.

  • I received the exact same letter outlining the same secretive scenario. However, there was no mention of financial gaming services anywhere. The check was from "Echo Global Logistics" drawn on JP Morgan Bank for $2366.82 (Chicago) BUT the letter & envelope came from Montreal, QC. Same contact for claim services, John Carter, Same "award amount or settlement amount and me listed as a beneficiary. What a bunch of XXXX! The whole thing seemed fishy, but I had recently been approached about a "job" complete with salary listing on a post card. Called the number on the card to find out they wanted around $12 to have my position details and forms to get started in my new "business"/"job". Basically, you had to pay for a list of names and contact info to send letters out to unite people with their 'uncollectd' funds, & of course you had to make sure they contacted you otherwise you wouldnt receive the 'finders' fee for 'helping'them out. sO, i KNEW immediately to look this up, since I also looked up the people/scam about the 'government' job and there were tons of people that had complained about that scam too. So, thats what I think this may be about. I have just started to investigate this one.
I've also been receibing calls from FLorida Gaming Board. Another call yesterday from NY - a voicemail stating I was "awarded" or won $185,000 and I needed to respond back via phone to find out how to 'claim' it.
People HAVE to be aware of all correspondence and phone calls submitted to them. There are very few people with scruples anymore, or maybe its just more obvious because they stand out in a crowd.
