I got the same check for 3,980.00 that others are reporting. It came in an envelope with a Costco logo. Letter claims I won 150,000.00 in a lottery. I decided to check this site for scams before doing anything with the check so I haven't lost any money. The letter asks for 1,995.00 to be paid to a tax agent.
