AS guests staying at Festiva's Blue Ridge Village we were contacted by a sales representive thanking us for staying there and invited us to a "NO OBLIGATION" presentation to learn more about their many resorts. We were told that if we kiindly took 90 minutes (& 90 minutes only) we would receive a gift of 2 tickets to the Tweetsie Railroad a free dinner and a 2 day stay at any of their resorts. It was hard to refuse when they told us that in NO WAY would we be obligated to PURCHASE a vacation plan, and that there would NOT be any HIGH PRESSURE ! My husband and I were very HONEST with the person who called us that we would probably not be interested in purchasing anything associated with time-shares.....We were reassured again, no obligation. We went to the lobby of the resort and it was at least 30 minutes before one of their reps showed up. We had to show drivers licenses and fill out paper work, etc....The guy was very forecefull and actually sequestered us into a room and started the BIG SALES PITCH.....time went on and on and after 90 minutes, we told him we had to leave......we had to meet our adult daughters and their families ! We told the guy we had fullfilled our obligation and expectd the PROMISED GIFTS ~ They adamently REFUSED, saying that we had to go on a tour of some of the cabins, etc and that was requied to get the gifts ~ I asked to speak to the guys boss, and he was a bigger ASS and refused us the gifts. We wasted over 90 minutes of our valuable time....and I would never ever recommend anyone buying into this bunch of B S !!! I intend to contact the North Carolina Department of Professional Regulations and try and find out how these scams are getting away with these LIES and forcefullness on the innocent !
