I was sent an invitation to join what looked like a legitimate web-site. However,
I did not check its background with Google search engines. Having submitted my debit card details for 'verification requirements only' it very much sounds as though this is a cleverly engineered scam going on (most probably originating in Nigeria) which extracts credit card details from private citizens and goes on to attempt to clean out their bank accounts. To underling this whole affair, at 0900 GMT hours today, I received an urgent phone call from the Fraud Department of my own clearing bank which strongly implies that fraudulent activity has been attempted in the last 12 hours.
Very strong advice:- keep well clear of these people as they are all fraudsters.
And, of course, well done Google for keeping an eye out for Penal Code 419-ers.
I shall be watching events over the next few weeks. And it all seemed above-board!
