I am Mayur from Ontario, Canada. I was online looking for something and pop-up window invite came up to do a survey and win an iPad. So I thought why not. I had cell phone close-by and entered my cell phone no. instead of land-line. I then got a text message that said I need to enter a password. next thing I knwo i was being charged $9.99. I ignored thinking some kind of spam. I kept getting this messages for renewal everytime charging 9.99. Ultimately I checked my TELUS bill to find out 19.98 against application purchase. I told them I never subscribed to any such service but they would not listen to. I have no such application downloaded on my cellphone and even my download history will attest to it. Telus gave me customer service number of Voxtel but everytime I have to wait hours to get someone and person would not listen to saying it is impossible to have charged without downloading Mobshak application. i tried mobshak number and got someone after half an hour to find some shoby lady speaking on speaker phone which can hardly be heard. then she hung up on me. I received another renewal email causing total damages to $29.97. As I was doing this I Googled Mobshack and was reading the reams of complaints about them. Talking to service provider Telus is like talking to a brick wall - they DON'T care, kept telling me I had to cancel with Mobshack directly. Why am I getting more charges? Mobile operators are obviously are getting a piece of the action so don't want to stop this and are now giving me the runaround. It's unconscionable that cell providers are in bed with these thieves and are complicit in this fraud. This 3rd party billing practice is a license to steal and nobody seems to care, not our cell providers or our regulatory agencies. I immediately want a full refund of $29.97 from Mobshak/Voxtel, and if they can't refund me, Telus should refund me.
