- I live in Rhode Island and on 8/18/11 I visited Woodhavens' alleged location on Allens Avenue in Providence, RI. They are not there! It is a scam. No legitimate lender/broker requies a down payment on a loan before you get the loan. Just have them take their ripoff fee out of the loan proceeds. If it is legit (which is isn't) then they should be able to deduct the $ they want from up front from the loan amount! Don't do it. Call a state regulator to see if they are licensed (they aren't). I talked to a Brian who hung up on me when I pressed him for their physical location. What a jerk and a crook.
