I had a girl named Kaela come to my front door from the Solomon Distributing Inc. She was asking me if I would like to have a free carpet cleaning.
I mentioned to her that I have hardwood flooring and the room that has carpet is being removed. She mentioned to me that they can show me on the carpet and can also do the hardwood too. I told her no and that my house is a mess.
After I said this, She began to beg that I allow her to have them clean because she gets $50.00 for every house that allows a demonstration and that she is behind on her bills and no minutes on her phone.
Knowing that times are rough and not knowing how the Kirby people are, I told her ok, but they cannot be here long and that I have an appointment that I need to be at. She said it would only take 15 minutes (not knowing that this was going to take 2 1/2 hours!).
She then asked if she could come in and get out of the cold. I told her no because my fiance' is not here, I am the only one home and I'm embarrased on the state of my house right now. Then she said, I've seen alot of dirty houses, I don't mind. AND WALKED RIGHT IN!!!
I should have just kicked her out, but again, my fiance' tells me I need to be more nice to people. So she asked to use my phone cause hers has no minutes. Confused I gave it to her and she called the guys to come by for the cleaning. After 4 attempts and no answer, she thought it was because they didnt know my number, then PULLS OUT HER PHONE AND CALLS. I asked her, I thought you had no minutes. She stated she doesn't, so this is an expensive call.
20 minutes later, they finally showed up. At the end, he kept trying to talk the price down and I kept saying no, my fiance' would kill me. Then he said, come on, your the man of the house. I mentioned, not for long if I get this vacuum cleaner. He then begged and said that he has a wife and kids and he gets points for doing the demonstration and if someone gets one, and that if he gets a certain amount of points he gets to go to a baseball game and sit in the luxury box with the big guys of Kirby and be mentored by them. He also stated it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY.
After telling me this, he said I can cancel this in 3 business days and he still gets the credit. Now, this was the only way that I could get him out of the house. the very next day, I sent in my cancellation notice. About a month later, nobody comes to get the vacuum, so I called Solomon Distributing Inc in Bremerton Washington.
They claim they never recieved it. I attempted to call her back, but was always conveniently busy. After she told me she contacted the financing agency on this matter to cancel the transaction, she told me to follow up with them.
I called, and they said she never called here, but we will note that you called. Now I have the financing company on edge with Kirby. SO YOU TELL ME!!! IS THIS A SCAM OR WHAT!!!! I am out $3,200.00. You see these people, turn on your hoses and DON'T LET THEM IN!!!
