On Feb.8th.2011 I called the Cablevision company that I receive my internet, phone and t.v service, and told them that I wished to disconnect my service for three months, due to personal matters that would keep me from being home. I was adviced by their representative not to disconnect my service, because if I did that I would lose the special rate of $99.00 per month rate, and that I would also be charge a reconnection fee. Instead she suggested I put my account on a seasonal break. She explained that if I did that I would be charged $4.95 per service while I was away, and when I got back home my service was put back on the same status it was. I send the a payment of $45.00 to cover the amount due while I was away from home. When I got back home I found bills from them for $298.00 and threats of disconnection. I called numerous times to have them explain to me why the charges were so high and also why I now was being charged $162.98 per month for the same service that I was on the special rate of $99.00 which came to a total of $109.76 and not $162.98 Each time I called I would be on the phone from one to one and half hours without any resolution. I would be told that a supervisor would call me back, no one would call back. In the meantime I would send in a payment for what the monthly bill should have been. One phone call that I made I insisted I speak to a supervisor, eventually I get a supervisor on the phone explained all of the above, and she tells me she can't do anything to help, but would call back after she speaks to someone in the company. Last week I came back from the hospital after having a masectomy, and was at bed rest to find out cablevision had shut off my service. I had to pay them over the phone another new amount of $211.98 to put the service back, and now is also followed with a new bill of $365.96 Pleasehelp me. Julia Arvan
