On 01/11/2012, I sent a check of $49.95 to Publishers Billing Services at P.O.Box 2489, White City, OR 97503 to renew my subscription of Smithsonian Magazine.
Up to this date of 05/30/2012, I have not received anything. Try to call 1-707-266-6673, but no one answers the phone. Only once, a gentleman answered the phone and confessed that they received the check but asked me to wait patiently for the magazine. I think this is a scam.

- They sent a $59.95 subscription renewal to me too. However, I read the fine print and it says "when you choose to renew or order a new subscription," which made sense, since I am not a Nat Geo subscriber. $59.95 is about $45 more than the same subscription through Nat Geo. They could have submitted your money, paid for the year and still made a profit, but they chose to be greedy. Too bad. Next time, you might consider going directly to the magazine's website and re-subscribing... at least you will get your magazine (unless it is Newsweek, which is another scam, since they are stopping their print subscription at the end of this year... so don't fall for people trying to sell you 3 year subscriptions at low-low prices. 10-4
