I received a letter in the mail about owing a Payday Loan company money. There was no more information about the company or when the loan was taken out. I even cross referenced it with my credit report and they did not show up at all. I call to inquire about the debt. The lady on the phone had just enough information to sound convincing at first but as I asked questions they kept dancing around and not directly answering things. I asked them how they knew the debt was mine and they said because they had my signature on the loan forms. To which I asked how do you know what my signature looks like, they said they had a copy of my drivers license. When I asked what state it was in or for the address on the license, they said it was cut off on the copy they had. After wasting about 15 minutes with this lady I was going to speak to my attorney.

After a few days I received another call asking to where they could serve me with my summons, my work or home. She then said she would be there in 45 minutes, of course no one showed. I then received a phone call two days later asking to speak with me or my lawyer about my summons. I was totally freaked out at first but after doing a lot of research I have decided this is a scam. The send me a letter that says I have 10 days to pay but in the fine print I have 30 days to dispute in writing. The letter has an address from both Ontario Canada and from Rochester New York.
