i was to recieve a tracking number for my purchase by June 7th, but then i got this email on june 7th:
Dear friend :
When we went to custom to check the tracking number , we know a bad news about your order .You know that accident is beyond of our control. There was an accidnet on the road, all of our items were damaged. Your item was also damaged and we need change a new one for you in order to avoid to return when you received it. It will spend us 7 days to make the manufacturer to deal with the return. Today we have returned the items to manufacturers, they are dealing with the problem now. We will save time to update your items , we will get the new item and ship to you on next Thursday . We hope it will not effect our cooperation for long time.

you can check the website for their return policy. and i have a proforma invoice.I have had many conversations with their online customer service, but here is the newest story i received on the 15th:

Dear friend :
Hope you everything goes well .
We have contacted the officer in custom so many times, but there is a bad news for you:
Mr. Liu Jing has delivered the Apple MacBook Pro MC723LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop ( 17 inch and i7 processor ) to HaiDian Custom on Jun 14th, 2012. And our staffs have inspected the packing list. In fact, all formalities they have handed in all professional and clear, but according to the new regulation , we have to charge 280 USD for additional exporting tax.
They asked 280 USD for the additional tax as penalty because your price is lower than China market.According to the new regulation , you need pay for 280 USD to clear custom as soon as possible.
I am sorry that we could not know it early! Please be considerate and check the invoice from custom . You should pay the tax to us as soon as possible so that we can clear customs for you quickly. Or they will take an action in 5 days from now on .

and i ask for a refund because i cant afford a fake tax of $280 but they are telling me that cutoms are detaining the item and that i cant get a refund until the tax is paid...

  • I was dooped by the same people! I sent $504, got the exact same emails, got ip banned, filed with the attorney generals office, complained to customs, filed with the FBI, and complained to Craigslist. I think if everyone does the same, maybe we can get something done about people from another country scamming Americans that do trade with their businesses!! Remarkable that we can't get anyone to deal with the situation. KEEP POSTING COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEM ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE TO GET THE WORD OUT!!! GOOD LUCK GETTING OUR MONEY BACK!!
