I went to this dealership becaused they advertised no credit no problem, no credit check. I purchased a 1999 Pathfinder and paid $800 cash down, total cost of vehicle 5,941.94. I was also told a fee of $300 for tax, title & lic. could be split up with 1st two car payments. I was to bring on the 21st of June 1st car payment of $300 + $150 for tax, title & lic. & show proof of insurance and would then get tags. At the counter salesman has the contract to sign, and seperate print out of agreement for the 1st payment of $150 of tax, title & lic. to be paid with car payment on 21st, he had marked out printed date of 4th and wrote the 21st then he initial it then had me sign it also. I expressed my concerns if there were any problems with vehicle in first couple of weeks what would they do. I was told to pay any repairs and bring receipts and they would deduct from car payment. After having Pathfinder 1 week I took in for oil change to Meineke and was told I had 2 oil leaks, transmission leak and muffler almost rusted through. They told me they didn't know how they had inspection sticker because it couldn't have passed and in their opinion it was unsafe to drive. When I called dealership I was told "thats what you get when buying used vehicle and just keep putting oil in it every few weeks" and I would have to pay for any repairs myself. On 06/08/2012 only having vehicle 18 days they came to my apt complex and repo the car. When I called to report stolen police told me dealership was reason it was gone, I was shocked. It was already after 6pm on friday so had to wait till next morning to get reason for repo. They told me because contract said payments were due on 4th and printout meant nothing. And then I was told there was nothing they could due till Monday when bank opened to get approval. Thats when salesman asked if I insurance because I probably wouldn't get approval without it. I was led to believe it was insured by them for 1st month but was informed I drove off their lot illegally and then I hung up on. On Monday I was told the guy I needed speak with was gone for day and given runaround on Tuesday also. On wednesday got certified letter telling me they were selling car in 30 days. I didn't have access to internet before going to this dealership, but when it was repo I went on to look for maybe after hrs. emergency # and first thing I saw was past customer reviews all bad. After reading some of them I knew I had been scammed, on one of the reviews I read where salesman that helped me had said"you know how many times we've been threatened to be sued". I feel so stupid and now helpless because I can't afford attorney. I feel they knew they were getting the car back in few weeks before I drove off the lot. I've already filed complaints with BBB and FTC and don't know if they are going to be of any help. I can only hope and pray you can help, this dealership shouldn't get away with this or if anything keep this from happening to someone else! Thank You
