Received an email for being a Mystery Shopper. A quick Google search showed me that this was a scam. But, I decided to play along to see what I could learn. This Jehuda Wilson sent me (from a 3rd party address in IL) a counterfeit cashier's check for $2,799.01 and told me to wire funds to a Gary Cole in the Philippines. I decided to scam the moron back! I pretended to comply with his instructions and even sent him a fake Western Union tracking number (after informing WU what I was doing and confirming that the tracking number would indeed be fake, so no innocent parties would be harmed). I had this idiot pulling his hair out trying to figure out where the money was. I even faked a screen shot of the western union website showing that Gary Cole (who probably doesn't exist) had already picked up the money. Jehuda Wilson was so mad that he was texting and emailing me in all caps. I could just see him having a stroke.

I am continuing to string him along. He has sent me 3 checks now and spent almost $60 of his own money on Express Mail packages. I have filed complaints with a dozen law enforcement and private agencies about this scam, but no one seems to care. I realize that they have limited resources and a zillion of these complaints to deal with, but it is still frustrating. So, I consider it my civic duty to continue to torture the scammer until he either gives up or dies of a heart attack.
