    • AskNow.com Complaint / User Submitted Image #127605

I joined Asknow at a very low time in my life. I consulted an advisor on their network who was working with me to remove negative energies. My first consultation with the Advisor was to set up a meditation schedule. She explained that the next few weeks it would be critical that I follow her instructions carefully and that the process we would follow would take a period to accomplish. She was very specific on when I should arrange to call her. Her rate charged was $6.99 per minute. After our second consultation on 5/18/12 the advisor requested that I perform some tasks and call her on 5/20/12. She sent me an email through AskNow.com and the email instructed me that I had 7 free minutes that were valid through 5/20/12. When I called into the service on 5/20/12 a few minutes before my appointment I was shocked to learn that the free minutes were not being honored by AskNow. The instructions I received online from AskNow when I went to redeem them said that they had expired on 5/20/12. But the appointment I was about to enter with the advisor was being made on 5/20/12 at least 7 hours before the day ended and the email I had in my hand clearly stated that they were good through 5/20/12. In an effort not to miss my appointment, and knowing that there must clearly have been a mistake with the computer at ASkNow I proceeded with my appointment thinking that I would straighten it out with customer service the next day.

When I called customer service and read the exactg language on the email offer I received "minutes are good through 5/20/12" the staff leader explained to me that this meant that they would have to be redeemed before 12:01 am on 5/20/12. I shared with him that he was quite wrong. "Valid through" means that the offer would have been valid until the stroke of midnight on 5/20/12 (in other words, the promotion should have been honored the whole day until 5/20/12 became 5/21/12). The shift leader steadfastly disagreed with me, and I again explained that his interpretation of dates and times was in error. I even went as far as to say "ask any lawyer to interpret your email language, I think you will see that I am quite right and I expect those minutes to be credited" At which point he claimed that he would block me from using the services forever.

Annoyed, I reminded him that is was my right to question a promotion, and especially when it was clear that AskNow was in error and not me. He then proceeded to tell me that anyone that threatens legal action is banned from their network and sister channels as well and he would be blocking me at the end of this call. As quickly as I could I reminded the shift leader of the language on their website that invites anyone that is disatisfied with the services to contact their customer service department for a refund. He claimed that did not apply in the case of a person like me that was threatening to sue the company. I shared that I had done no such thing, at which time he said he would send the tape recording of our conversation to the IT department for review. Tape recording? I did not agree to have any conversation recorded, but since I had siad nothing out of line I simply asked for the name of the President/CEO or other person at the head of the company. He insisted that the IT department would be the correct person and I asked to speak with them. I was refused. I shared witht the shift leader that to ban me for pursuing my right to question their promotional collaterals was tantamount to discrimination. After all, what right did they have to ban me for asking a promotion was not honored that had been emailed to me? He disagreed, stating that he had the right to ban a customer that had threatened a lawsuit. I questioned the veracity of his statement and he relied on a "recording of our conversation that indicated I had", I asked for a copy of the phone recorded conversation, at which point he declared that I had no right to hear it.

Before ending our call, and because being blocked meant that I could not only not follow the advise that the advisor had recommended to complete our task, but also that all I had spent with AskNow was useless because the meditation would never be completed. I asked for a full refund of all the funds I had spent to date, totalling $465.00. He agreed to credit the 7 minutes and said the credit would take up to 10 days to receive. I was not content with that resoltuion and once again demanded to have all the funds returned since I would gain no benefit from what I had already spent. He refused.

12 days after that date, I sent an email to the customer service department asking about the refund, and received a very nast email back and a phone call as well from Full Spectrum in Florida. The email repeated what the voice mail stated. That credit had been given to me for the last reading I had but nothing more and to cease and desist slandering the company and never to call or email or write again.

This company is completely without ethics. Customer service is a complete misnomer...the only service the customer service provides is to bully and intimidate anyone that requests redress from wrong. The company displays a satisfaction guarantee on their website. I am no longer able to use the services of AskNow - I cannot complete the program I began due to being banned and I am requesting a refund for all that I spent, needlessly, with their service before being discriminated against.

I am seeking $305.62 from this unethical operation.
