This is a New York & California Number that claims they are with the "State Investigation Attorney General's Office. A guy with a thick foreign accent called to notify me that a legal case has been filed against my name & Social Security number with the last four digits (the 607-595-2318) then today I received the same message from a different guy stating the same with my whole Social Security number (the 951-389-0314) & that I needed to contact them back or have my attorney contact them for a warrant has been issued & I'd be arrested if I did not call them back. I have investigated myself after calling the 607-595-2318 number last week and not being able to get a clear answer to any of my simple questions like, What State Department has issued a warrant? What is their phone number? What is your address? I kept getting placed on hold & being told that they were not the phone directory & I had to do this type of investigation myself. So I did & I have within the last week had to close out my checking account & savings put a fraud alert in with the credit agency in which if you have this type of situation you can contact 1-888-397-3742 & there is an automated system that will take your information over the phone as well as send the alert out to all three credit agencies & give you a confirmation number. I have reported to the FTC 1-877-382-4357, I've contacted NY Attorney General's & DA's Office as well as my local Attorney General & DA's office in addition to my local Sherrifs office. This has been very stressful & frustrating just because they have my Social Security number more than anything & from what I've been told it was hacked in some way. Be careful what you do on the internet & I tell you it has definitely made me think 2, 3, 4 times about how I will be paying my bills, asking for simple quotes online, even checking my e-mail (just simple things because I tell you this is a nightmare for me) So to my readers this is a complete "SCAM", "SCAM", "SCAM".
