I had recieved multiple telephone calls over several months with a person claiming that "yellow pages" was simply updating their information and wanted to confirm my business name, business address, and business telephone number. In an effort to save time, myself and my employees would simply answer, "yes." Then just two days ago I recieved another telephone call from OPYP stating that I was being sent to collection for non-payment. I was baffled! I never agreed to anything and yet somehow they replayed a recording for me in which my voice was saying yes to questions I had never even been asked. For fear of my credit being harmed and with the "recording" having been played, I gave my credit card information over the phone to their representative. It is NOT my business practice to ever agree to a service such as this over the phone. I was informed shortly after making payment of a scam going around and began to look into it further. I am amazed that so many people are reporting the EXACT same circumstances. At this point I am doing my best dispute the charges to my credit card. Does anybody know what can be done to stop them and how get our money back?
