My 14 year old son, a minor, signed up for a My Mobile Care account from a link on a web page. The only confirmation they did for determining eligibility, including age verification, was to send a text message to his phone.
From his phone number alone, they were able to create a recurring charge against my account, totally without my knowledge.
I had just changed my cell account with T-Mobile, and so the charges were masked in the new plan. Otherwise, I would certainly have noticed two new charges of $9.98 each month and would have resolved this earlier.
T-Mobile stopped the charges at my request when I did find out, and gave me the phone numbers.

They also showed the charges as coming from "True Digit", not "My Mobile Care", confusing the issue.
The person who answered at My Mobile Care, aka True Digit, doesn't seem to understand minors cannot legally make decisions and insisted all was on the up and up. She gave me the address for the Head Office. I wrote a letter, but have not yet heard back. Also, the address, via Google Maps, doesn't show either of those company names attached to the address.
