I was contacted by Kathy Parks of Synergy Transportation Network in NYC claiming they saw my resume in LinkedIn and were looking for a person to operate a "soon to open office in Los Angeles" to handle incoming ocean cargo. They were interested in me because I had mining background and they were shipping heavy mining equipment from Europe to the U.S. They offered complete package including salary, benefits, car allowance, expenses, etc; and, office either from home or company office. Training consisted of 4 weeks of study with a test at end of each week, followed by a "final" test. If I passed every test they would pay $2,000 and initiate 2nd stage training (a week in NYC), followed by job start. Extra compensation was offered after the second week. It consisted of "purchasing" computer equipment and general office equipment to be used by new hire either in company office or home office. The strange thing was... I was asked to purchase with my own credit card (they wanted $5,000 min. limit) and I would be reimbursed. I told them I do not use my personal card for any business use and communication decreased after that point in time. I turned in the "final" test on June 14 and was told I would hear back within a few days. Of course that did not happen. Their website is www.synergytr.com, but they are not linked in business anywhere else that I could locate. I spoke initially with a person identifying herself as Kathy Parks and then with an HR person calling himself Bruce Phillips, in NYC office. These predators need to be stopped from bilking people through identity theft. I hope this information helps someone.
