I placed an order for a Pentax SM CP-DA 55-300mm lens online with AJ Richies because they were the cheapest around. I immediately received my email confirmation for $299.99, free shipping and handlig and no taxes ,what a deal! 2 weeks later ,I hadn't heard anything, so I emailed customer service and they emailed me back and said if they didn't hear back from me to verify my order within 2 days they would cancel my order. This was not mentioned on the site or in the original email. Smelled fishy, but I did so on June 24. Whoever answered the phone said I had to call back during regular business hours. Okayyyy. I did call back on June 25, I relayed my information to the perons on the phone. He apparently hung up on me, so I had to call back and start all over again, telling them I was disconnected. This time ,he tried all his tactics to sell me almost another $100 worth of lens filters and other accessories. Everytime I said no. I explained that a professional photographer told me specifically to puchase this, nothing else. Then he told me that I would be charged $315.99. I asked why since I was told it would be $299.99. He said it was mandatory for insurance. NOWHERE in the emails I received or on the Website did it say that AT ALL. I said whatever, trying to get off the phone and get my lens. Then he said he had a DEAL for me, but he wasn't supposed to do it. I knew it was bogus. He said the lens filter he tried selling me for $40 he could give to me for $5 - uh huh. He said itw as a Father's Day sale he was extending for me. I said whatever, give it to me so I can get my lens. So the total was $319.99. OK ,"We'll have this shipped immediately to you." One week later, they still have not emailed me to say it has been shipped. I called Wells Fargo and was told that I had been charged $319.99 on June 25 - TWO DAYS BEFORE I spoke with the man. I called AJ Richies again on July 2. They told me they had to contact customer service and they would send me an email immediately. 2 hours later, I returned my call, and the SAME MAN answered the phone. It is always the SAME MAN who has answered the phone EVERY TIME, and has always answered with, "Hello." Not, "Hello, this is AJ Richies, how can I help you?" Not one time a human has answered the phone did that human say the name of the company. I asked who I was speaking to, he told me Eric, that was it. I asked him where my email was, he said it would take 24 hours for customer service to get to it. BULL. I asked to speak with customer service, and they told me it had been shipped sometime last week, but he could not give me a UPS tracking number or the day it was shipped. Just said it should be there by the end of the week. In my original email, dated June 12, they told me that it would be shipped within 2-5 business days. It has been 20 days, or 10 business days. I have today made a disupte claim with my credit card company.
