I was contacted by a representative (Jack) of this company telling me that the owner of our company had requested that the online yellow pages advertising be cancelled. He went on to say that the deadline was that day and I would need to take care of it for him. He advised since the advertising had been a free trial offer it had to be cancelled that day or he would be billed. So, I agreed to do the voice verification to cancel it. The call was transferred over and the woman began reading the script, she then said there was an outstanding bill that would be sent in the mail for the previous advertising. I stopped the call and she transferred me back to "Jack". He explained/promised that there would be no bill and just to go through with the voice verification so it would be cancelled. He transferred me back and I went through the voice verification to cancel. When it came time for the bill on the previous advertising, I stated that I was not aware of the bill and not authorized to pay it. She then went on to say it would be mailed. It was. Now we are receiving collection letters from them, with my name on them.
