Two weeks ago I was contacted by an agent for TriCorp by the name of Robert Harrison.He asked if I was thinking of selling my timeshare,I said yes if the price was right.He said he had a client which I believe now was ficticious that wanted to buy one.I told him if the price was right I would be willing to sell.He got back to me the following day with and offer to buy,it was lower that what I would be asking for it.He asked if I had a pay off price from my bank which I had called for.That response took 2 days.When I got my pay off figure I contacted Harrison,he made a counter offer to the buyer who agreed on the price.And then the money dance began.Harrison said he wanted to close in 3 weeks but I needed to send him a money order by express mail in the amount of $654.53 for an estoppel.I was then to email him the tracking number (wonder why he sounded desperate).I asked why the money could not come from the sale but he insisted it would have to be this way of doing it.This phone call took place on Thursday evening at 6.30pm.I had to leave for work the following morning at 5am and would not get a chance to send it to him until Saturday if I decided to move forward with this.In the meantime the legal department of the company that held my loan informed me that they never heard or did business with TriCorp and to be cautious of scams..
I had to sign papers with my company which took 3 days for them to get back to me but in the meantime I got a snippy email from TriCorp informing me that I took too long and the offer was presented to another party.This email was signed by Tony Erickson GM but in another online complaint he signed as Sales Manager.I guess he forgot what hat he was wearing when he wrote his snippy response.So to sum it up,because a person does his due diligance in protecting his assets it does not suit these scammers.I guess they hope some unspecting desperate person will just mail them $654 just because they are nice guys.If something sounds too good to be true then it is.Seller beware,run from these people.
