This company signed me up for a calendar application without my knowledge. I called AT&T and they quickly reversed the charges plus allowed me to put a block on these type of charges.
Basically, they said companies will get your phone number and if you don't read the terms of service before you click submit on a web form, you have agreed to a monthly recurring charge.
AT&T was very good at helping me with this.
