I received the following e-mail from Mary Williams ([email protected]):

Dear candidate

This email is to inform you that you have been chosen as 1 of three candidates to progress further in our hiring process.

You will be working in one of our client's offices and your role will be to interact with by phone/email, in addition to doing regular office assigments. This is a fast growth company that offers a great future for you, with a great hourly rate and health insurance (part time employees too).

The company pays all employees via Direct Deposit with our preferred banking instituion - no additional cost for you, so please go here and sign up: Direct Deposit

Once you have received your Direct Deposit confirmation, kindly respond back to this email with your ideal interview date/time. The current openings are as follows:
August 25 @ 11:00am
August 25 @ 2:00pm
August 25 @ 4:00pm

Keep in mind, you need your Direct Deposit account info before your meeting, as we will be processing your payment information at that time. I can't stress enough to get this done ASAP so, go there immediately, so we do not experience a delay with your first direct deposit.

Thanks again!
Mary

"Today is Tuesday and I will be in the office all day"

1. This e-mail was sent to me in response to an inquiry I sent about a dental receptionist position. First red flag: nothing was mentioned about a dental practice, no contact information, and the e-mail came from a property management source.
2. No one should ask you for your direct deposit information until you've actually been given a job. And even then, it will most likely be a paper form you should fill out, not an online form.

Good luck folks. Don't give "Mary" a chance to steal all your money!
