On Thursday night,August 9th,2012 at about 1:30am(which would technecally be Friday morning the 10th)an interruption into my computer screen stated that I was violating a US Code and that my computer would be locked until I paid a fine of $200.00 within 72 hours or I would have legal action taken against me and forfeit my freedom. Now I thought this to be strange because my name was not used.If the feds were to hack into my machine they surely would have whom I was and where I was. So with "discretion being the better part of valor" I did my due diligence only to find out that I too was a victim of this insidious scam. I have not submitted payment and i knew the FBI was not taking any kinds of payment for fines that I am aware of.Who are these guys? They are using what appears to be an official FBI seal.However, the details for making payment are a bit vague when it comes to where to make payment.That is why I chose to visit the FBI.gov homepage to inquire about all of this. I am glad I did. No the only problem I have is how to get the computer unlocked if infact it is.So people, be aware of this scam.
