The above college offers clinical Rotations for LPN's , to complete an associates degree and take boards. I was scheduled to take the clinical test in Albany N.Y.I was failed for an idiodic reason. Ive been a nurse for over 15+ years. I work with severly ill patients on an every day bases. The instructors humiliated the nuring students, as if they knew our future was in their hands. Grown women with familes crying having nervous breakdowns. I returned to my home town and contacted an attorney who wrote a dispute letter to the Dean of nursing in my behalf. It appears that Excelsior college as scamed so many nurses. Posting after postings on line from many nurses who went through the same humiliation. As a single mom of 3. I had to give up and now hold an associates degree in health and science / unable to sit for boards. The reply from the Dean was short and sweet "as per my nursing care plan I did not complete the clinical", but could retry again of course paying tuition again. I tried obtaining a copy of my careplans but they refused. The Deans secretary would not even take my messages . I have specific names, dates, times of Excelsior personel Ive spoken to. I have the letter submitted by certified mail by my attorney dictating step by step the clincal rotation. I have no idea were to go an take a clinical course that would be recognized y the board f nursing. With the amount of complaints againts this college from dfferent states claiming the same treatment and reason for failues. The board of Nursing has done nothing to help.
