I was checking my bank account today and observed that a $30.00 check had been written on 8/14/12 and had been deducted from my account on 8/15/12. This was an electronic debit and was shown to be made out to "Check Process". It was noted on the bottom "For Vantage Funding, 888-235-3097, [email protected]." Also imprinted under where my signature would have been, in very small letters, was the illegible name of a Clearing Service, with what appears to be 855-573-5?32. I called the 888-235-3097 number above and spoke with a lady who said the charge was for a loan that I had requested and that I qualified for more than I had requested previously. I advised her that I had not received a loan nor had I requested one. She advised me to go the website and verify the information and the new loan would be deposited in my account and the $30 would be part of the first payment. I verified the information and saw that it had been submitted OVER TWO YEARS AGO, in June 2010. I corrected the address and the bank information (which I realize was a BIG MISTAKE on my part) and clicked on the submit button. I shortly received a notification that "We are sorry but you do not qualify for a payday loan at this time."
I attempted to call again 3 times within the next 14 minutes and each time within less than 5 minutes after an automated answering device advised that all agents were busy at the time, please hold, the phone line would automatically disconnect.
I sent an email to them and have received a response, sent by SupportTrio Help Desk, stating that my email had been received.
The monetary damages, at present, is $30.00. However, if this deduction causes my account to be in an NSF status, then it will cost me an additional $25.00 for a possibility of $55.00.
