This has been going on for over 2 years. The total has just added up after sending certain amounts at a time. Below is a copy of the letter that was sent to the FBI but sent back to us.
My name is Harry Bartlett, I am 82 years old, had a stroke and now unable to do anything. I became involved with a man who said his name is John Thomas. He ended up being a con man and took our entire life savings.I contacted the FBI office in Salt Lake City, Ut. and gave them a list of names, addresses and telephone numbers. They told me they would forward my complaint to the Idaho Branch in Pocatello, Idaho and that the agents would probably contact me. They never have. I understand that senior citizens all accross the united states are loosing their money to these crooks. I was told the FBI could do nothing about this problem. I do not believe that because we have the sbest law enforcement agency in the world here. I know you can not help me but please try to stop these people from destroying other elderly peoples lives. These men claim to be connected with the lottery International and also used the Publishers clearing house as a front for the business. Please do what you can to put a stop to this abuse. I have a huge list of names and addresses in which I have sent money, as well as a list of phone numbers. As I have said before, I realize that I will never get my money back, but would love to give this information to you so maybe another family will not have to go through what our family has gone through and is still going through. A little history on my situation would be that my wife and I of 63 years, have lived in our home for our entire marriage, never had a mortgage on it, and now there is a 60k mortgage on it just trying to pay back some of our loss.
