Tanja posted several ads on gumtree.com.au
3 known people were promised items (iPads, handbags and concert tickets) in exchange for an internet transfer of the money, Tanja would express post the money as soon as it was clear in her account. Buyers were re-assured by her willingness to talk on the phone and give up personal details about herself, including sending a picture of her NSW license.
After 3 days when asked if the money is cleared, she replies "pending". Once the money is surely in her account, she says the item has been posted (but only when prompted, she never starts the communication). The next day when the bag is expected and never arrives, she insists that it has been sent but cannot provide proof of it. After several days when it becomes clear that she has not sent it, when questioned she says that the item failed to be delivered and was returned to her. (But she never bothers to tell you that). Then she offers to re-send, at which point a refund is refund is requested. She asks for bank details and says she is doing a deposit via internet tonight and send a fake photo of a transaction. After 3 days when the money is not returned, again she is prompted and she says the money has bounced back (but never tells you this) then she offers to do it again, of course to the same result. She continues to delay and lie about returning the money and always says "trust me", "tomorrow", "you have my word" etc
Currently only $350 out of the $1220 has been returned.
