Dear Sir/Madam.
I purchased a Holden Barina 2008 model i November 2008. I have ongoing issues with the brakes gripping and releasing, grinding etc. It was reported to Nowra city holden at the 1000km service, that the brakes did not feel right. This was the only way I could describe it at that time. They took it for a run, or so they said, and responded by saying that that was normal for this vehicle. Over a period of 18 months or so, the problem was mentioned, but the same old responses were given. e.g. I have driven 5 Barinas today and it is consistent with all of those etc etc etc. In June 2011 I put the car in again, this time they machined the discs or whatever they call them. They then had the audacity to charge me, as they claimed it was not covered under warranty. After a discussion they would credit me from memory approx $130.00. They gave me 2 years and 50,000 kms warranty on that work. In the last couple of months the same problem had re emerged. I took it in on the 30/08/12 to get them to look at it AGAIN. After a discussion with the service manager (Keith) he said they were not going to cover the brakes under warranty. For the safety of my family, I reluctantly agreed to fix it. I was quoted $347.00 dollars, then they rang to change the pads a further $127.00 TOTAL $454.00. Whwn picking up the vehichle, it blew out to $520.00. Conveniently not mentioning any GST etc. I then was notified by a relative , showing the recall for brake issues in Barinas from 2007 - 2010. Though not exactly the same issue, it certainly explains the quality of cat that I purchased. I want my $520.00 refunded in full, a written apology from the dealership, for the attitude they have shown over the entire ordeal.As said before, It was mentioned from the 1000kms service onwards, but Nowra city Holden conveniently have no records of this for the first 18 months. I am extremely unhappy with all that has happened and emotionally drained. However I will pursue justice , no matter how long it takes
