I purchased several items this morning at an Aldi store about 4 miles from my home. When I got home I looked at my receipt and discovered on the receipt I had been charged for a Childs Watch. I looked in the phone directory and yellow pages to find a phone number to ring the store up but with no success. I went on line and eventually found a number. I rang the number and was told I was fourth in a line, I waited and tried again and was in a line of four again. I held and gave up after a long time holding.
I went back to the store with my shopping and receipt. I approached the store assistant manager Phil and told him what had happened, and - without any eye contact or niceties he shouted to an assistant to check my receipt. She checked it and told me that a carton of fruit juice had been scanned as a childs watch - very suspicious. She told the assistant manager and still without eye contact or any apology gave me the refund and immediately took the price of the fruit juice out of it I was shocked I thought he would have at least had the decency not to charge for the offending item.

I had travelled twice to the store, held on the phone for a considerable length of time which I mentioned to Phil and he said I wouldn't get through with no other explanation I was treated very rudely with no apology whatsoever. A lesson in manners would not go a miss. It made me feel very suspicious as if this is maybe some sort of scam. I reiterate the behaviour and getting no apology or eye contact.
