International boundaries

Ran up a Bill for £209,000 over a 12 month period, More money than was in the estate. Now wants me to pay for his failingsTook another 10 months to issue a record of time recorded. failed in his duty of care to a client broke every rule that Solicitor must act within, Misleads people about winning a case. Does loads of work that is not required then charges £700 per hour for every he does not need to do.

  • Hi Lloydy! I am having problems with Mr Scott Halborg myself. I have not used his solicitor services.. rather he owns the house next to mine & is suing me for fabricated damages. Could you please explain to me what happened with you exactly? This is my email address:

  • Unfortunately I also had the misfortune of hiring this solicitor to act for me. He claimed that he had to do extra hours on my case that were not verified or ever detailed and asked for full payment up front before he would conclude the issue.
    If I had refused I would have had to start again and this would have cost £1000s so reluctantly I paid. The way I was dealt with caused additional stress at a very stressful time for me and my family.
    When I checked with another solicitor I was told that I had been grossly overcharged.
    I could have complained to the Legal Ombudsman but would have had to complain to Mr Halborg first which I just could not face given his aggressive approach when it came to dealing with me and maximising his fees.
    Solicitors like this put the profession in a very poor light and I hope people read this before employing this company.

  • I have had a similar experience - still in litigation. Is there anyway we could help each other. He was aggressive and caused me additional stress at difficult time also.

    Maybe we could both put a joint complaint into Legal Ombudsman together.

  • BUYER BEWARE - Do not work with this man! He is a disgrace to the legal profession. Creepy, unprofessional, legally incapable and a horrible, horrible character.

    Mr Halborg offered to work for me on a no-win-no-fee basis then proceeded to TRY to bill me for +50k - 6 months later.

    I would recommend anyone reading this, seeks advice and legal support elsewhere. Do not touch him with a barge-pole.
