I was notified by by Electricity Supplier that they were 'loosing me'. I had not switched and phoned them immediately. A LETTER ABOUT 10 DAYS LATER FROM MY SUPPLIER THAT THEY HAD CHALLENGED THE COMPANY WHO SAID I HAD SWITCHED TO THEM TOLD THEM IT WAS ALL ABOVE BOARD,
PHONED AGAIN AND WAS GIVEN THE NUMBER OF EDF WHO HAD SAID I HAD SWITCHED TO THEM.

Spent more than half hour waiting for phone call to be answered. Told the guy what had happened and he said it was an online switch and he would give me neither the address which the switch should have been made to or the name of the person .
Said he would investigate.

Next thing was i got a very large bill from My current supplier to close the contract with a reading which was written down as NOT ESTIMATED. When i had this checked the figure was out by about 1800 units.

Phone current supplieer again. They said they had just heard from EDF that this was an erroneous switch and they would be getting the supply back to themselves on 11th Sept.

Yesterday (6/9/12/) I had a storm of mail from EDF. Two bills, one threatening letter and a letter making a weak apology for the erroneous switch. But taking no responsibility. Their bill clearly stated 'estimated reading' So at least one lie was exposed.

I then phoned and spoke to a Manager who insisted it was not their fault but someone had put my address in on the online application by error. They don't check that this is correct just assume "people know their own address".

I asked for a proper apology and also some tangible acknowledgment for the stress they had put me through.
Their attitude continued to be 'it was not our fault'.

I suggest that the management shoul perhaps review thire methods. They seem to grab any new customer with checking anything at all.
