I ordered a Smoothie Elite from Everything Kitchens in June, as my old one quit working. I did a google search for this smoothie maker and Everything Kitchens came up with it so I purchased the Smoothie Elite with my debit card. The new Smoothie Elite came in but quit working entirely about a month after I purchased it. So I called Everything Kitchens and they told me to contact the manufacturer, Hamilton Beach, about getting a smoothie maker because Everything Kitchens does not give refunds and they quit selling the Smoothie Elite right after I bought one... About a week later I received a blender instead of the Smoothie Elite. I called and expressed my disatisfaction to Everything Kitchens and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I could not send it back because, coincidentally, I bought the last one and they do not carry them anymore. I don't need a blender,I have one. I want a Smoothie Elite that works and if I can't have what I ordered, I want my money back...a credit on my debit card. This was a typical bait and switch scheme that internet shopping is plagued with. Can you help me with this vendor basically stealing my money and sending what they had on hand instead?

Thank you!

  • Not trying to step on anyone's toes here, but this doesn't exactly qualify as a scam. I checked Everything Kitchens' return policy, which states items must be unused and returned within 30 days - makes sense since they are selling food service products. And you stated that you sent the "smoothie maker" back to Hamilton Beach and they sent you a blender in return. So how exactly did Everything Kitchens scam you? Sounds like you were outside of their return policy so their hands were tied and they sent you to the manufacturer to replace a defective item. And that's what the manufacturer did. A smoothie maker and a blender are one in the same. I'd be happier with a blender if it was me, the "smoothie makers" always seem to break anyway and they both do the same thing! I shop at Everything Kitchens a few times a year and I have never had a problem with them. Their prices are the lowest by far and their staff is always friendly and helpful.
