At 8:01 PM received the following text message:
"AT&T Free Msg: Your subscription purchase was successful. PlayCredits for $12.99 will auto-renew on 10/24/12. Need help? Visit att.com/mobilepurchases"
I never made this purchase, so I followed the link and was eventually able to halt the recurring charges. However, in the first instance when I attempted to halt the charges and also have the initial "purchase" removed I received the following message from the AT&T website:
"We are experiencing a failure. Please try your request again shortly.
Error 300.
ETID: 1348459135604"
About a dozen subsequent attempts got the same result, so I decided to try simply stopping the recurring charges and was successful. I later decided to try to address the initial charge after several hours had passed and received the same error message. I will call At&T in the AM and hopefully that will provide a solution.
