I fell foul of an advert for Slimtone Plus Raspberry Ketone diet pills offered on a 14 day "Free Trial". These pills and also patches are offered by paying £4.95 Handling and Postage fee. They then send 30 days worth of Pills and Patches (the patches cause swelling, soreness and blistering of the skin - DO NOT USE).
You must respond within the 14 days to cancel the subscription which you have inadvertently agreed to. If you don't reply and return the products you are charged £75.00 plus an additional £4.95 postage. This carries on monthly until you cancel. Even then you are not out of the woods. You have to call their Customer Service Number 0844 745 9698. They then give you a very garbled address which if you listen to it at least 3 times you will find that it is:

The returns RMA number is a mere 18 characters long and is garbled out in a broad Irish accent. I haven't had my Telephone bill in yet but I expect tha the 0844 number is a premium rate number.

By getting the RMA number wrong or the address wrong you have to go through the whole message again. They don't send a confirmation of the RMA number and address until you email them. Be aware that they will not reply within the trial period unless you are very lucky.

One glimmer of hope is that they are trading as Slimtone UK and the returns department is in Eire (Ireland) which of course is not in the UK. Postage to this address is much more expensive than to a UK address. Since they make no mention of this in their Terms and Conditions, it may be that they are in breach of their own contract. I have gleaned from my own research that they moved the returns office to Eire because of the UK authorities (Trading Standards) clamping down on such scams.

Of course the pills and patches which you are forced to return cannot be used since the packaging is opened. However they still insist on them being returned. It costs @ £8.00 for "signed for" delivery to Dublin.

Of couse they may actually be re-packaging the returned items as a means of maximising the funds from this scam. That of course is another matter for the Irish authorities to investigate.
