I found an advertisement about free trial of african mango and discount for the first shipping on some africanmango.ca website on which I got from magazine "More". I thought if I could order it for my 10-year old son if that product was so harmless.
I send an email asking the company regarding children on
their email:
[email protected]
on August 9.
Surprisingly, I rceived an answer from : This sender is DomainKeys verified"Rickbob101 Jarvis" (Personal Information Removed)

Hi Julia,
It's 100% safe but it's NOT recommended for children. At age 10 it may be pushing it.

Even though I should be suspicious because of that email (I think now), I wrote to and back and finally I decided to try and order a free trial that, as it was promised, I should receive during next few days and could cancel it in 2 weeks or they would charge my card for the next order.

First of all, the site looked like Canadian (there was no US option at all and only Canadian provinces), but after I submitted the order, I was shocked seeing below my Canadian address "US" instead of "Canada". At the same time I got confirmation of my order on my email with the same error. The confirmation was from [email protected]. I got the order number 16729.

So, I wrote them using the address that I found in their contacts and order confirmation:

Here I first time saw "the Prime Brands", but "african mango" disappeared.

I got a reply from "no-reply" about fixing the error and so, my address was corrected.

But I got no trial sample during next 12 days and I decided to cancel their future orders.
I wrote to the address that I found in their contacts again that first, I haven't received anything and because there is no trial, I should cancel the subscription. I gave them one day to answer or I should cancel my credit card. That was August 21, 2011
I actually realized that I won't get a reply, but they may try to take much bigger amount earlier than promised, so I cancelled the card right away.
Of course, I got no reply.
But on Aug 30 I got a message from "[email protected]" :

Dear ...,
This email is to inform you that we have submitted multiple attempts to charge your account for your subscription of Mango CA - Membership, and unfortunately have not been successful with any attempt.
We ask that you please contact our Customer Service team to place a new payment method on file to maintain your subscription active

I am very glad that I cancelled my credit card asking the bank to send me a new one - this scam organization would definitely charge me around $80 for their not existing service, and even if they sent something, I think it can be a fake product.

Also interesting detail that even though they ask to contact their Customer Service, they do not give the contact information, but send a letter from "no-reply" email.

Today is Aug 30, 20 days since I ordered "free trial" of this Mango, but I got nothing, but only emails that they wanted to charge my card and couldn't do so.
Like they haven't received my email from August 21 about cancellation.

I feel sorry that I was so foolish that I let them taking $6 from my credit card for shipping, but when I checked regarding spam "african mango" weight loss product, I found Dr.Oz recommendations and explanation on african mango site that people name it scam because the product is so good that competing companies spread the news about "scam"...
Of course, before I checked "[email protected]" scam, I couldn't get on this site - it didn't show up after I googled "african mango scam"...

And now I probably should be happy that I cancelled my card not too late and lost only $6, not more.
