I found an add for a golden retriever online for $250 and the address said Chicago. I thought great 3 hours away, we can make a day of going to go get her. well i send an email that said that I was interested in getting one of her puppies and she sent me one back that asked all kinds of questions like kids, owned a pet before all of that. she also wanted to know if I was taking one or both of them. she said that she had to sell them because she was going thru some surgery and couldn't keep them so needed to sell them. I talked to her a few times and never actually said that I would take the puppy then the next email I get says that she has already paid the $80 to get the ownership papers transferred to my name. This was on wednesday Sept 26, 2012. She also told me that she dropped the puppy off with the transport service that would be bringing me the puppy and delivering it to my house. I sent her an email this morning on 10/6/12 to ask her for the name of the company she uses and all she told me was that I have nothing to worry about just do as they say and the puppy will be delivered safely. Later this morning the transport people called me and asked if Id seen my email cuz they sent me one about a cities document that I needed to pay $1000 for to get her into the city. this didnt sound right so I got online and started to see if I could find them on any scam site and I couldn't. We had a big argument that i wanted my dog and wasn't going to pay any more money to get her here. the transport service then threatened me with a $5000 court process for abandonment and molestation of the animal. come to find out that if an animal gets shipped somewhere all you need to do is be there to pick up your dog and sign the cities document. no money changes hands in this transaction. after all that is done and signed you can then take your beloved puppy home. remember this in case it happens to you. I wish id have known.
