Purchased this SmartPen at the University of Hawaii BookStore about 2 years ago. This pen has a screen that indicates battery life, menus, etc; however, it has faded gradually until there is nothing. The Pen works in recording but one cannot view what you are doing, recording or playing etc. If you look on their website there are hundreds worldwide that are complaining about this problem and some have written back that they have gotten replacement. Others like myself was advised to purchase another one at a discount price but when asked if this will happen again, they cannot guarantee that it will not. They also advise one to go thru this whole update steps that should make the screen brighter but it did not. I am still seeing others writing about this same problem and they give the same answer, "will create a ticket for your problem" and the customers have the same result as I. I have already informed the University of Hawaii Bookstore of this problem and they were going to speak their rep. Can one do anything about this? Do I chalk it up as a loss and an expensive lesson (also bought refills and special tablets for this pen).
