We received a very official-looking letter and a professionally-cut check from Primerica Life Insurance Company in the amount of $3,880. The letter stated that we had won International Lotto Powerball from the United Kingdom. I knew that it was a scam after reading half the letter (it had spelled winning "wining.") We weren't fooled into depositing the money, which required us then to pay administrative fees and taxes. We called the Federal Trade Commission to report the letter. You can reach them at 1 (877) FTC-HELP or (1-877-382-4357. I'm afraid an elderly person will be fooled by this horrible scam.

- We just got this letter in the mail today as well and I noticed the typo, too. I agree...this one looks pretty professional and could easily snag someone. I hope they can stop them soon.

- These checks ARE NOT from Primerica life. They are from 3rd party scammers using the Primerica name. They do this with Now York Life, Metlife, AFLAC, to name a few. so, the complaint against the company itself is unfounded and misplaced.
