Signed up for grantassit.com to get a free cd with free government grants and only had to pay $2.97 shipping 8/24/2011 was charged. Then the next day a lady calls and says you have a 30 day free trial and after that if you dont cancel there will be a membership fee. Well I figured that I would call and go ahead and cancel so my card did not get charged additional monies. 0n 8/31/2011 I call to cancel still thinking I am well before my tial membership is expired and they inform me that you have to cancel within 7 days well it is the 7th day, then they back track and tell me that it has to be cancelled by 12 am the night before the 7th day. I look at my Bank account and there is a charge for $57.93 from grantassist.com.They never told me when signing up that I would be charged a membership fee of any kind. To add insult to injury there informed me they would be sending me a free vacation.LOL lesson learned cancelled debit card. Filing with bank tomorrow.
