We first found Silver State homes online and thought it would be a good idea to talk with them. A woman named Linda Thompson called me and was telling me about the company and what they do. She told me that I would need to put a $4500 deposit towards the down payment. And all she needed from me was bank statements. And before I would gave her any money, I did a thorough search of this company to see if it was a scam and nothing came up. So I sent her what I had which was $300 through a greendot moneypak card. I did not get a receipt for my payment. Then she emailed me my approval letter. We actually found a house and started going through the paperwork. A few days after we sent the money, the website was down and the number was not in service. I kept emailing her and I would get minimal responses. So finally my realtor got the new number from her and he gave it to me. The date of 8-31-11 is when my realtor called me and told me to go to this website and read the complaints that people were making about silver state homes. I then called Linda and told her about this and all she gave me was a lame excuse and said if i didnt want to go through with this then she will refund my money. I then asked her to give me actual proof that this loan is legit and all she said that i get is the approval letter and once i give the full 4500 then i will get paperwork. That is a no go for me. DO not let this woman get your money. She preys on people that have limited credit.
