  • Dear Tim, I have received "thousands" of PCH emails, some of which said something to the effect of, "... if the SuperPrize® Number assigned to you matches the winning number drawn...". or, "Some one with the initials XX will definitely win $xxx...", or some other statement which indicates that I am still in the running for the "big" prize. Some of the earlier announcements/teasers that I received even said something similar to,"...You will receive $xxx (in large print)...if your winning number is drawn (in smaller print). None of these statements say that a person has actually won. They just are used to let you know that you are still in the runnig for "The Money", and to tease you into submitting another entry after you read their ads. After all, they are in the business of selling things. Their giveaways are how they get you to read their ads. When they say, " all i had to do was enter a sweepstakes and on 8/31/11 they may come to my door..." (a quote from your complaint), the key word here is "may" "May" does not mean "shall" or "will". It means "might" come to your door. I don't think that they scammed you. IMHO, they just expect people to read carefully, and to analyze what the words really mean. That is not misleading advertising. It means that you and I just need to use the reading skills that our teachers exposed us to when we were in school.
