I received a phone call today from someone called Kay Murphy regarding my bonus weeks for my Wyndham /RCI timeshare. She told me I wasn't going to use them they would sell my 12 weeks to corporate event planners who would pay much more than the minimum $1200 per week, and all she needed was $149 for each week I wanted to sell. She directed me to the RCI website to review my vacation plan and it sounded to me that she was very knowledgable about my timeshare. She said if I didn't use my bonus weeks by January, I would lose it altogether and as a travel agency they ensure the timeshare only goes to "reputable" organizations for their events. I agreed to pre-authorize a charge of $1788.00 to my Amex card. Then they sent the contract which I was to sign electronically. I read the language and became suspicious so I called to ask questions and wasn't satisfied. I did a Google search and found your site among others warning of this scam. I immediately called Amex who saw the charge pending, and they cancelled my number to prevent the transaction. I then called Access Travel Network back and told them I cancelled the charge and had notified Amex about this scam. So far, no one from Access Travel Network has called me back. Thank goodness for sites like this to warn people. Their pitch was very convincing, I just hope they don't scam more people.
