Emailed this company regarding fitting freesat tv with dish etc, was quoted 150€ fully inc iva, also asked if it was done at the same time what extra charge would be to have also installed in bedroom. was emailed total cost for both 199€.. there webiste showed all installation packages clearly saying all fully inc of iva tax.
went ahead and booked installation, when the engineer turned up, rather shifty, specifically asked him if i had it installed in the bedroom would i be able to change the channels from that room , if not i wouldnt be going ahead with the extra installation, he assured me yes it will work no problem and started installation. The Tv cannot be changed channel in the bedroom, its a trip into other room with tv on to do any channel changing so total waste of money installing it.
when tuning in the box, i pointed out the top of the screen had big flickering interference, he fiddled about a bit, finally leaving a couple of split strands wire looped round the connections (shoddy work)..i again asked about the bedroom setup , he said just use the small controller supplied, then shot to his car rapidly to drop tools and bring bill.
The bill was now not 199€ as quoted but had a further 41.00€ added supposedly iva...i pointed out all my correspondence stated it was already fully included, he got even shiftier and looked very uncomfortable stating no its on top, i felt very awkward as i had only budgeted the quote of 199.00€,i felt very intimidated as i was alone as a female with a very shifty supposed engineer so felt had no choice but to pay up.
as soon as i did he couldnt leave fast enough as he clearly knew he was conning me.
I then rang the company stating i was not happy with being charged twice for iva and they kept hanging up. tried another phone and did the same.
emailed them 3 times and all ignored.
company owner finally rang whilst i was at work today saying website is out of date so iva now not included etc which is deliberately misleading people and illegal misrepresentation, i said the work was shoddy , he basically said report me to who you like we dont care.
