We are meeting with detectives and cops. Keep filing those complaints until we all get our money back. Don't stop. Also Bank of America is letting this all happen and honoring this guys account.

Hello, First time reading this thread.
We were also victims of this fraud scheme, putting up $4200 for the 1 Astor Place apartment. One thing different about our experience is that we actually cajoled $400 dollars out of the guy. That's the good news. The bad news is that getting this $400 made us feel like were more likely to get repaid if we avoided litigation and criminal prosecution... thus the long wait before committing to file charges/sue.
I do have his phone number and have spoken with the guy as recently as 60 days ago... making it even weirder. Why give me his new phone number and pretend to be willing to make payments? Why pay $400?
I wish I had seen the complaints here at scambook but, unfortunately, they didn't show up in the web searches and research we did last fall.
I consider us lucky to have gotten 10% back after reading about this guy. -
